Colorado’s CD3 GOP Primary Voters Prefer Hope Scheppelman Over Incumbent Jeff Hurd in Key Polling Metrics:
Community Release: January 6, 2026
Grand Junction & Pueblo, CO: Today, the Hope Scheppelman for Congress campaign publicly released the attached Internal Polling Memo showing the promising results from polling done last month.
FROM THE POLLSTER: “I’ve polled quite a few races like this in the ’26 cycle and, despite the 43% ‘not sure’ favorability rating, Hope performs the best against the incumbent of any of the districts. This is a huge opportunity to grow an even bigger lead.” Mark Mitchell, Head Pollster, Rasmussen Reports.
While narrowly trailing incumbent Jeff Hurd in the initial head-to-head matchup as would be expected, the race swings dramatically in Scheppelman’s favor once voters know basic information about both candidates.
“Our polling confirms everyone’s instincts about Hurd’s freshman blundering with his radical Democrat buddies when he should be supporting President Trump and us and our district’s commonsense America First values,” said Hope Scheppelman
“I’m listening closely to voters, and they are done with Hurd’s left-wing insider antics and are more than willing to give me the chance to fight for our hard-working and law-abiding citizens in Congress,” continued Scheppelman.
With Colorado’s Republican Party Caucus Nomination process beginning in 2 months, this polling data comes at the best time for undecided voters to begin to understand the two candidates better.
“Regular Republicans and common-sense Democrat and Unaffiliated voters should be encouraged by these results too, because they show we can do much better than sell-out insider politicians like Jeff Hurd,” concluded Scheppelman.
