Fighting for Colorado’s Backbone: Ranchers, Builders, and Real Lives in CD3
ROOTED IN VALUES. READY FOR CHANGE.
Hello, Colorado. Hope Scheppelman here, candidate for Colorado’s third congressional district (CD3). Wednesday and Thursday were humbling reminders of why this campaign matters.
On Wednesday night, I had the opportunity to sit, listen to a packed room of cattlemen, ranchers, and families from across the western slope, many of whom feel completely forgotten by the system. I spoke with Conway Farrell, Doug Bruchez, and the owners of the Coberly Creek Ranch and listened as they shared their heartbreaking stories of confirmed wolf kills, missing cattle, calves, and livestock. The photos, the videos, and the pain in their voices is beyond belief. These animals aren’t just livestock, they’re family.
On Thursday, I attended the Colorado Parks and Wildlife Commission meeting in Grand Junction, where two wolf damage claims, Farrell Livestock and Coberly Creek Ranch, were recommended for denial. But in a powerful movement of fairness, both ranchers were awarded full settlement. I am deeply grateful for the commissioners who stood up and did the right thing.

Since the introduction of wolves, ranchers and their livestock have been under attack. This issue must be fixed. As your congresswoman, I give my word I will fight relentlessly for our ranching families. You haven’t been forgotten, and I will not let you be overlooked.
Later that day, I joined the Colorado Association of Homebuilders in Palisade for a much-needed discussion about housing. We talked about the crushing impact of regulation and red tape, the urgent need to streamline federal permitting, reform NEPA, and stop federal overreach on building codes and unfair impact fees. We need to return to the America First agenda. One that eliminates hundreds of thousands of dollars of unnecessary regulations that drive up costs not just for the builders, but for everyday families trying to buy homes. In La Plata County, the median home price is now $630,000. That’s not obtainable for most, and that definitely is not sustainable. As your next congresswoman, I will work alongside groups like the Homebuilders Association to roll back burdensome federal regulations and protect home ownership opportunities for Colorado families.
Together, we face real challenges, but we also carry the strength, grit, and heart of Colorado’s people. Our ranchers deserve leaders who understand that feeding America is not just a job, it’s a calling passed down through generations. Our families deserve leaders who know that home ownership is the cornerstone of the American Dream. And our children deserve leaders who will defend their future by fighting for freedom, prosperity, and opportunity.
Fighting for Colorado’s Ranchers, Builders, and Real Lives in Congressional District 3
This campaign is not about me, it’s about all of us. It’s about building a future where our ranchers aren’t punished for living off the land, where our small businesses can thrive without government strangling them in red tape, and where every family has a fair shot at stability and success.
I believe in Colorado’s values because I live them. Faith, family, freedom, and a love for this land, we cannot allow career politicians or out-of-touch bureaucrats to erode these foundations. Washington, D.C. has forgotten who they serve, but we have not forgotten who we are.
So let’s rise up, together. With your prayers, your support, and your vote, we will restore common sense, protect our way of life, and deliver real results for Colorado’s third district.
